September Favourites

I feel like I say this at the end of each month but I can’t believe how quickly this year is flying by, I’m starting to think that I should start doing a bit of Christmas shopping as I was told it’s only 12 weekends left! My September favourites for this post contain a mixture of new products I’ve been loving but also some bits I’ve been using for a while and still love.

At the start of this month I purchased my most loved pink lipstick to date- Chanel Charme (full review here). I’m constantly on the lookout for the perfect nudey/pink colour as I think it’s such a staple for any girls make-up collection and I think it’s so hard to find a colour that isn’t too nude or too bright pink for an every day look. As Charme has quite a sheer finish it leaves the perfect amount of colour on the lips without being too much. I’ve worn this almost every day since I bought it and I can see it staying in my make-up bag for quite a while. Another lip product I’ve been loving this month is the Bourjois chubby stick in Red Sunrise. I think the formulation of these are really great- they’re super pigmented so you can either go for a full on coloured lip or a light stain, they’re also really moisturizing so don’t give a cracked lip effect, which I hate!

Maybelline Colour Tattoos were quite rightly hyped up in the blogging world over the summer as I think this was the first time a drug store brand had made something similar to the high end paint pots by the likes of Bobbie Brown and MAC. Like most people I have been a huge fan of the On and On Bronze colour (full review here) as I really love that you can use it as a simple swipe of colour or build it up for a more intense look. I’ve been wearing this almost every day to add a little bit of colour to my lids.

A make-up product that I’ve rediscovered is the SEVENTEEN blush in First Kiss. Over the summer I became a little obsessed with cream blushes, the Max Factor ones to be precise (full review here) and kind of forgot how much I love the satin finish of a really good powder blush. As a brand I really rate SEVENTEEN as I think they have a a great selection of products and they’re super cheap.

A skincare product that I’ve been using for a few months and recently repurchased (good sign!) is the 3 in 1 micellar water from L’Oreal. I’ve been an avid user of the Bioderma micellar water for a while now but I thought I’d give L’Oreal’s micellar water a go as it is so much cheaper and much easier to get hold of than Bioderma. As I don’t use waterproof mascara because non-waterproof mascara seems to last well on me, I don’t really need a ‘hard working’ make-up remover, I do however need a skincare product that works with sensitive skin and L’Oreal get a big thumbs up on this front!

Lastly, I’ve been using the Body Creme in English Pear & Freesia from Jo Malone religiously for the past few weeks and been absolutely loving it. I love their body crèmes as they’re so strongly scented that they could be worn as an alternative to perfume. The English Pear and Freesia is such an elegant sweet, floral scent that I feel can be worn both S/S and A/W. I keep hinting (asking) at my boyfriend to buy me the perfume in this scent as I’m so in love with it, so fingers crossed I’ll have both of these soon.
