2016 Summary and 2017 Goals

I always like to start the new year by reflecting on the previous year and thinking about what I achievedand what I would like to achieve in the new year. I apply this to every aspect of my life including my blog, friendships, family life, relationship and work life. This is absolutely something that can be done throughout the year but January just feels like a fresh start and the perfect time to evaluate my life.

I thought I would share a few of my goals for the year as I always find it so inspiring to hear other peoples aims for the year and I think it really helps to write you goals down.

Wedding –

This year is the year I get married, which actually feels crazy to say out loud. I’m actually not feeling too stressed about the wedding at the moment because I’ve organised the main aspects of the wedding like the venue, photographer, flowers and dress (eeep!). Now I just need to organise the little bits like the decorations and the fine details which is what I think make a wedding – so over the next few months I’m going to be pinning furiously to my Pinterest! My main aim for the run up to the wedding is to not expect too much, now that sounds awful, but it’t really not. I tend to get too excited by things and even if they’re amazing, they don’t ever live up to what I imagined and I would hate for this to happen with my wedding! This also means it will allow me to enjoy the day without worrying about all the little things.

Blog –

This year I would really like to fall in love with my blog again. I feel like 2016 was the year for Instagram and being someone that loves photography I absolutely threw myself into this and it really did pay off, but I think my blog took a bit of a back seat. I would like to go back to posting at least once a week every week as I’m feeling so inspired for blogging at the moment. I’m also really happy with my blog design which I changed towards the end of last year because I just didn’t love my old one anymore.

Photography

Photography is always something that I’ve been passionate about and it’s why I will always love blogging as it really helped me to find this hobby. In 2017 I would absolutely love to try and improve on my photography, I’ve just bought a new camera and an amazing lens and it’s completed sparked my love and excitement for taking pictures again.

Exercise –

2016 was definitely the year where I found out the kind of exercise that I love to do, which is spinning, but my work outs were too few and far between towards the end of the year and with a wedding coming up I really want to pick this up again. It’s a new year cliche but I’d also like to eat a bit healthier, this Christmas has left me feeling really not great about what I eat and I’d love to make interesting healthy meals that I enjoy eating.

Cards –

Something I’ve never been very good at is buying people cards, I’m fine at buying birthday cards but I mean like New House, Congratulations and all the cards in between. I think I’m quite a considerate person but this is just something that I always have to work really hard on and I’d love for it to come a bit easier.

Travel –

When I think back to 2016 I really did travel to a lot of beautiful places and I would absolutely love to build on this in 2017. Travelling has always been something I’d been passionate about and I think this also links into my love for photography but theres a few places that I’d love to tick off my list this year including Italy (for ALL the food), the Maldives and Switzerland.

This post ending up being a really big word vomit post, but I think it’s so important to write down your goals and what you wan to achieve because then you really start to visualise them.
