Afternoon Tea at Sketch

Earlier last week you may have seen all over my Instagram stories that I had a delightful afternoon tea at Sketch. Sketch is one of those magical places in London that everyone has heard of and has either been or it's on the top of their To Go list. The pink room specifically in Sketch is what the venue is so famous for and it's easy to see why. Absolutely everything is pink, from the plush velvet chairs, to the walls and ceiling, it really is the dream.

To mark the occasion of having afternoon tea in an entirely pink dining room I decided to take my new baby pink Valentino Glam Rock Bag out for a whirl. This pretty little thing is from Farfetch and I couldn't think of a more perfect location to take it. I paired it with my pale grey waterfall coat from Zara last year, but I've managed to find one almost identical from Dorothy Perkins. My boots are from Emu Australia and are the snuggliest thing ever as they're lined with Merino wool which makes them so comfortable to walk in. Almost like you're wearing slippers outside, and who doesn't want that?!

For Christmas Sketch have transformed the front of the venue into a winter wonderland. You walk through a canopy of snow dusted trees until you reach the pink dining room, and then if you've been to Sketch before you'll know that they have the coolest toilets ever and they've even turn that area into a winter wonderland.

We had their traditional afternoon tea with champagne and for my tree I had the Christmas Chai, which I'd highly recommend. This is also one of those afternoons teas where you can keep asking for your favourite part to be refilled. If you're looking for a festive afternoon tea in a special location I'd recommend trying to book sketch, you won't regret it.

Thanksgiving and Black Friday go hand in hand in the US and while us Brits don't get to celebrate with Turkey we do get to enjoy the huge Black Friday sales. I think it was last year that we really got into the full swing of Black Friday in the UK and this year it's set to be even bigger with huge discounts both online and on the high street.

This Black Friday I'm working with the amazing Beauty Bay to let you all know that they're giving a HUGE discount of up to 30% off some of their biggest brands. To celebrate this I've picked 4 products I've always wanted to try from the brands being discounted to show you exactly what you can save on.

Starting with Skincare, there is currently 20% off Oskia, which is one of my favourite skincare brands, and having tried a few items from the range I thought I would give one of their serums a go. I chose the Super 16 Advanced Nutri-Active Collagen Serum as the cold weather has left my skin feeling so incredibly dry and really in need of some moisture. The serum is a blend of 16 super nutrients and Bio-Actives, which work to increase the production of Collagen.

Moving onto make up, Kevyn Aucoin is a brand that I've always wanted to try but never quite got round to it and they currently have an offer of 20% off. The first thing I picked was the Celestial Powder, as so many people have raved about this and I thought it would be perfect for party season. Next I picked the Essential Eye Shadow Palette in the absolutely stunning Bloodroses shade. I'm a huge fan of deep plum shades and for me this palette is the perfect mix for this with the addition of some neutral shades too - perfect for the party season.

The last brand I chose to pick from was Fairy Drops, currently 30% off and I picked up their Scandal Queen Mascara, which is a product that I have heard so much about, and being a fan of big, volumous lashes I just had to give this a try.

Now over to you! The discount is now live over on Beauty Bay and is automatically applied, so no codes are needed. As it's close to the glitzy party season you could pick some bits up for yourself or some Christmas presents for friends and family!

Christmas Beauty Baubles

Beauty Baubles

I don't believe in Christmas coming too early, I'm the kind of person that gets excited as soon as the first Christmas decorations start popping up in department stores and just can't wait to put my tree up. Therefore I thought it was about time to finally post some gift guides and must have Christmas beauty posts. The first gift guide post is going to be Christmas beauty baubles. These have been so popular over the past few years and I think they're so perfect for Secret Santa gifts and stocking fillers. This year more and more brands have released their own version and there are some really amazing ones to pick up. To make it easier for you I've added clickable images below that will take you directly to the products shown above and a few others!

Clarins Beauty Advent Calendar

It's officially time to start getting festive, and I'm so excited to start sharing with you all of my planned Christmas content for the year. I remember the first few years when beauty calendars were released, they were such a simple idea but genius at the same time. This year Clarins have released their very first beauty advent calendar and it contains 25 days filled with a mix of beauty and skincare. I think the design is very cute and think it's the right mix between festive and classic.

The calendar is priced at £95 and contains products worth the amount of £125. It contains some really decent sized products, like a full size of the Instant Comforting Lip Oil and a large Beauty Flash Balm. Disappointingly it also contains some sample sized products that you could get for free from a Clarins counter and then some gift tags. Overall I do think that the calendar is lovely, particularly if you're a huge Clarins fan like I am, but I would say that it would have been nice to replace the filler days with a few more travel sized products.

Despite the few filler days I really am excited to for December 1st and collect all the products from the calendar because I know they're going to keep me going for future holidays and flights, and who doesn't love anything mini?!

Molton Brown Rose Absolute

Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year for beauty releases, everything is wrapped in lovely little boxes and with some kind of festive twist. The new Rosa Absolute scent from Molton Brown is so perfect for the festive season as the smell is so rich and luxurious and ignites a sense of warmth, which is what Christmas is all about.

Rose Absolute is a blend of rose oil, blackcurrant, geranium and patchouli resulting is a really luxe floral and fruity scent. The new range is available in an Eau de Toilette, Body Moisturiser and Bath and Shower Gel. The Bath and Shower Gel is my favourite, purely because I think the bright ruby colour is absolutely stunning and I'm a sucker for pretty products. I really like that Molton Brown now offer Eau de Toilettes, because they're scents are so beautiful that it only seems right to offer a way of layering the scents event further. Along with containing the scents I mentioned above the Eau de Toilette also contains pink pepper, violet leaf and vanilla, which results is a really complex beautiful rose scent.

I think it's worth mentioning that although this range is based around the rose scent, I wouldn't say the smell of rose is over powering. I think this is due to all of the other ingredients they've added in so as I said above, it really is more of a complex rose scent mixed with blackcurrant, patchouli and geranium.

Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil #feelgoodskin

Cleansing oils are my absolute favourite type of cleanser particularly when the weather is a little bit colder as I feel like it's just another way to nourish your skin. I've recently been using the Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil, and being someone that uses a fair amount of high end products, I am so, so impressed with the quality of this product. It’s made with 100% pure grapeseed oil and has a really light texture which means you’re not left with greasy feeling skin afterwards.

I have fairly sensitive skin, and during the winter I get dry patches on face so really rely on gentle and nourishing products to get me through the colder months. London has suddenly plummeted in temperature as soon as we hit October and I really think because I've been using this every evening to take my make up off that it's prevented my skin from getting dry.

It seems that there are still a lot of misconceptions around using cleansing oils, particularly for those who have oily skin. However, if you do suffer from oily skin you can still use cleansing oils as the way they work is by removing any impurities and excess oil from the skin and as I mentioned above, they're also amazing if you have dry and sensitive skin too!

For removing my make-up I always use Simple Kind to Skin Face Wipes to remove the make-up around my eyes as I find that's the easiest thing to do regardless of what type of cleanser I use. To then remove the make-up from my skin I pour a small amount of the Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil into my hands, and you really only need a small amount as a little goes a long way, I then apply it to my skin and massage in circular motions. I make sure that I've covered my whole face with the oil, massaging gently all over and then rinse off with a warm face cloth to remove the oil, leaving my skin perfectly free from make-up.  I find that doing this process just once with a small amount of the oil dissolves all of the make up on my face and leaves my skin feeling, make up free, clean and hydrated.

Have you tried the Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil before and what do you think?
