BareMinerals Powder Duo

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Bare Minerals, over the past few years I think they've completely transformed the look of their brand and I'm not complaining. I've recently been loving a few of their latest releases so wanted to share why I think they're so great. Let's start with the new Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo, which looks like something that could have come straight out of an Hourglass collection. It's a duo palette containing one matte powder and one glow powder. I like the matte powder but for me the winner is hands down the glow powder. I find that it gives a lovely subtle glow and sites really nicely all day on top of make up. I've taken this palette on a few overnight trips recently and it's been so handy, plus it looks really pretty too!

Next I wanted to talk about some of their skincare products they've launched this year. I think they've absolutely nailed the aesthetics with their skincare releases, they're all super clean and white with a hint of rose gold. They clearly know the way to a bloggers heart. My favourite from the launch is the True Oasis Oil Free Replenishing Gel Cream. I've liked this for for the hotter weeks we've been having as it feels like light and cooling on the skin but nourishing at the same time. The other skincare product I've been trying is the Anti-Imperfection Treatment Gelee Cleanser, which I don't think I can give a full review of as I think it's mainly aimed a skin types that are more prone to acne so I can't review it on that front. What this did help with though, is declogging of pores around that nose, which I'm super prone to! It contains Salicylic Acid to remove impurities and dissolve dirt in the pores.

Shangri-La Hotel- The Shard

Shangri-La Hotel The Shard
Being someone who loves London I'm always so excited to visit new placed, and recently I had the most amazing trip and stayed at the Shangri-La hotel in the Shard thanks to Elizabeth Arden for the launch of their new Prevage City Smart SPF 50 product. If you're not familiar with The Shard it's the tallest skyscraper in London and has such a unique architectural design. It's home to the Shangri-La hotel along with a host of world class restaurants and bars.

The decor can be described as oriental chic with views that pan over the whole of London. We stayed in one of the city view rooms, which I'd definitely recommend as I've never stayed in a hotel with views quite like it. The room is a very comfortable size, with a huge king sized bed, two chairs by the window, which I'd recommend turning around to see the view and a huge bathroom with his and her sinks.

Each room seems to vary slightly different but ours had a huge tub and shower room at the end of the bathroom, which feels quite like a steam room in a spa, but I know some rooms had tubs that overlook London. If you can I'd try and get one of those, because the thought of having a bath overlooking London sounds incredible.

After relaxing in our room whilst sipping some champagne by our skyline view we headed down to Aqua Shade for some more champagne with a skyline view. Aqua Shard has a really cool vibe, if you're just looking for going for drinks, you can get some really great window spots or even just sit in the main part of the bar. We then headed up to Hutong for dinner in one of the private dining rooms, which was one of my favourite meals I've had in London. I would compare the food to be similar to Hakkasan, so Chinese with a little bit of a twist. Hutong has a really cool vibe to it too, with red lanterns dotted all around the restaurant and then a huge beautiful wooden tree in the middle of the space. It has a really fun yet romantic feel to the place and somewhere I'd recommend for a special date night or special occasion.

If you're lucky enough to stay at The Shangri-La in the Shard, I'd recommend trying to wake up early for sunrise as there's northing quite like watching London wake up and due to the position you can see all the train lines moving along bringing the city to life.

Goodwood Races

Goodwood Races
A few weeks a go, you would have seen over on my Instagram and Snapchat that I attended the ever so quintessentially British, Goodwood Races. I attended the Dove 100 Colours Ladies Day event, which if you saw the pictures online you'll have seen it was incredibly colourful. As Dove were hosting the event they had challenged me to wear my brightest colours and to be colour confident to celebrate their Invisible Dry deodorant, which has been proven to leave zero marks on 100 colours. As someone who has used only Dove deodarants for years I was absolutely more than happy to take on this challenge. The reason I love Dove deo's so much is that they come in so many different scents and have a 1/4 moisturising property which means that they leave your underarms super soft. And then of course they don't leave any white marks.

Normally I would opt for a more muted coloured outfit or even black so for me this colour confident challenge was definitely out of my comfort zone. Trying to be as colourful as possible I wore an absolutely stunning Ted Baker Skirt, with the most beautiful pink and purple flowers all over it. I then paired it with a very bright pink cold should cami, my new favourite lilac Jimmy Choo's, and then a huge baby pink hat.

Also, you may have seen me talking about this necklace on snapchat as I'm absolutely in love with it. It's an 18k white gold initial G necklace from a brand called 77 diamonds who do the most incredible jewellery and this piece is from their new Monologue Collection. The range contains stunning initials in 18k white gold, yellow gold and rose gold with the prettiest diamond accents. At the moment you can get 10% off the whole Monologue Collection by using the code LONDONLIFE. I think this is the perfect piece if you're looking for an extra special gift for someone or just if you fancy treating yourself and as it's not plated metal it will last a lifetime!

I'm a big fan of the races and was lucky enough to be in a box right by the race course which gave the best view for cheering on the horses. We were absolutely spoilt during the day and were treated to a seriously delicious 3 course lunch, which followed by an afternoon tea. Is there anything more British that a day at the races and afternoon tea?

Being a truly British summer time the heavens opened halfway through the day and let me tell you, I've never felt happier to have our own little space in doors to watch the final races without getting wet. Unfortunately I didn't hit the jackpot during my day at Goodwood but I did venture outside my comfort box of wearing neutral colours and wore a super bright outfit, which I absolutely loved.

Origins Mega Defense SPF 45

Over the past few months I've been collecting up a few favoruites  new launches and wanted to share them with you in one big post. The first thing I wanted to share is something from Jo Malone (surprise, surprise), and its from their new Marthe Armitage collection. The collection as a whole is so beautiful, with each item from the range being covered in the artists unique and hand drawn printed designs. The product I've been loving from the collection is the set of 4 hand soaps. Each soap is individually wrapped in the beautiful hand drawn paper and you get 4 different scents from the Jo Malone line. The set contain Blackberry & Bay, English Pear & Freesia, Pomegranate Noir, and Lime Basil & Manderin, all 4 of which are some of my favourite Jo Malone scents.

Sticking with the scent theme, I've also been really loving the new Gucci perfume, Bamboo. It's such a stunning summer scent that combines sandalwood, Tahitian vanilla, casablanca lily, orange blossom and ylang ylang. I think the mix between the beautiful floral scents and then the deep sandalwood make this such an interesting scent that isn't too floral. I've been wearing this quite a bit this summer but it's definitely also one that could transition into Autumn.

In terms of skincare, I haven't actually been that exciting and have been using the same few moisturisers and cleaners for a good few months. One thing that I have added into my morning is the new Origins Mega-Defense SPF45, which is from the same range from Dr Andrew Weil. The idea is that it fights against the daily damage of UV and pollution. Living in a large city means that I'm constantly exposed to high levels of pollution so this kind of product is absolutely perfect. It feels really light on the skin so you can't tell that you've added another layer in the morning.

Moving onto make up I've fallen back in love with Nars Orgasm Blusher and this is due to the launch of the limited edition super sized version in collaboration with Fabien Baron. The blush comes in a box with the prettiest imagery on the front just to make it a little bit more special. Then lastly is a contour stick from the amazing budget friendly brand, Collection. The stick comes in a super creamy forumla that makes it really easy to blend out contour for even the most inexperienced make up users. It comes in 3 shades to suit most skin types.

Are there any launches you've been loving lately?
