Rediscovering Simple Skincare

Simple was the very first skincare brand that I started using as a teenage and over the past month or so I seemed to have come full circle as I've been using so many of their products. The first product that got me back into Simple was their Micellar Cleansing Water. I'm a big fan of cleansing waters, especially when they're affordable and I find that the Simple one works as good as the more expensive ones and is super gentle. I try not to use face wipes too much because I really just won't feel like they cleanse my face enough, but for the gym they're absolutely perfect! I particularly like these ones as they have my name on them (curtsy of London Fashion Week) and they have the beautiful Holly Fulton design on them!

The kind to skin Deep Cleansing Face Mask, which is probably my least favourite product that I've tried but purely because I like masks that really pack a punch with whatever they claim to say they do. I don't feel like this mask particularly does a great deal to my skin and the texture is quite thin and not what I would expect from a mask.

Finally the Replenishing Rich Moisturiser is a very gentle moisturiser and even though the name says rich it's actually quite light in texture. I think this would be perfect for combination or oily skin types during the colder months when you want something hydrating but not too heavy.

Have you rediscovered any old Simple favourites recently?

Snapshots from Budapest

Last weekend I popped over to Budapest for one of my best friends hen parties, and as cities go, it's probably one of the most beautiful and breath taking places I've ever been to. The architecture is absolutely stunning with beautiful immaculate buildings everywhere you look. If you're on the hunt for a cheap European get away then I'd highly recommend Budapest, there's so much to do, the food is delicious and it's incredibly good value for money. We went to a restaurant called Spoon, which overlooked the Zenit Budapest Palace, and was the most spectacular dinner I've view ever had.

The Christmas decorations aren't up yet, but I can imagine when they are it will turn into the most magical city, which I'm definitely going to drag my boyfriend back to!

Urban Outfitters Beauty Section

I recently discovered that Urban Outfitters have some what of an amazing beauty and skincare selection, which has only just launched this year. They invited me to have a look at the brands they have on offer an to pick a few items from their range. Being a huge skincare and beauty junkie I was so impressed with the brands that they stock some already firm favourites and others, which I'd been wanting to try for a while. Their aim is to stock brands that aren't sold anywhere else or are difficult to get hold of products cult favourites. I think the section is perfect for gifts for beauty addicts or if you want to treat yourself to a brand that you can't find anywhere else.

The first product I chose was an already holy grail staple for me, the Tangle Teezer. If you haven't tried this before then prepare yourself for the easiest pain free hair detangling of your life.

One brand I'd had my eye on for a while was Fig + Yarrow, the do such interesting products like powder clay masks that you add water to and bath milk powders that turn your bath into a relaxing floral milky pool.

Mario Badescu is a brand that I've heard so many beauty bloggers talk about and after falling head over heels for their Seaweed Night Cream I can totally see why. It's enriched with collagen and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and leave you with silky soft skin in the morning. The brand as a whole is really good if you suffer from acne with products aimed specifically at blemish prone skin.

Finally the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask is something that's been on my wishlist for the longest time. It's a mask that tackles a number of issues all at once by deeply moisturising whilst also cleansing and delivering an anti-oxidising treatment.

I think they're currently in the process of re stocking so keep an eye out for some new and exciting brands!

Marble and Tassels

If you follow me on Instagram you've probably already seen this outfit but as I love it so much I thought it deserved a blog post on it's own. I've been wearing these black Ted & Muffy boots so much recently, they're so comfortable for their height and fit perfectly thanks to the made to measure calve sizes. I mentioned the wine tasseled back in a recent Primark haul video and people seemed to go crazy for it. It's the perfect colour for Autumn and surprising roomy for a small bag. I couldn't find this jumper to link but it's from Zara and the perfect knitwear for this time of year!

New Products From Cult Beauty

New Products From Cult Beauty

If you're an avid beauty lover then you'll be a huge fan of Cult Beauty as the way I view it they're like a supped up version of Space NK. They stock the most amazing brands both established and emerging from all over the world. I've recently been having a play with with some of their newest brands and thought I'd give the low down on the products.

Beauty Drops from SkinOwl are little serum boosting drops to enhance your skincare. There are 3 to chose from which all contain ingredients tailored to different skin types. So Geranium for combination dehydrated skin,  Clary Sage for ageing, dry skin and Lavender for acne prone skin. I attended the launch of these a few months ago and got the opportunity to chat with the lovely founder, who said that she loves using these as a steam to really clear out her pores. She just adds a few drops to a bowl of boiling water and pops her head over the bowl under a towel for a few minutes.

Next is Odacite, which again is an organic brand aimed at delivering personalised skincare. The idea is that there is a serum for every skin type and problem. There are 18 serums in total each aimed at a different skin problem, so there's one for clogged pores, dehydrated skin, sensitive skin, sagging skin and the list goes onYou can use the serums on their own or use them with your existing moisturiser to boost your skincare. Can you also us them with their Oleosomes Time Delivery Cream to make the serum even more potent and active. Personally I love the idea behind Odacite, it's tailored skincare targeting exact issues without having to go see a dermatologist.

Last but not least is W3ll People, which is a skin-loving make up line developed by 3 beauty experts one of which being the former creative consultant for NARS. The products are completely free of any fillers, parabens, propylene glycol and any other nasty chemicals. I have the Universal Multi-Stick, which is a lip and cheek stick that's made from nourishing grape seed, olive, camellia, castor and safflower seed oils along with aloe, antioxidant green tea and Vitamin E. The stick is lovely a creamy to apply, blends beautifully on the skin and lasts a really long time. I also have the Bio Brightening Invisible Powder, which is meant to give real life Instagram skin. I can't say my skin look flawless but it is a nice setting powder.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - Nars Sheer Glow Dupe

Nars Sheer Glow Dupe

Nars Sheer Glow foundation has been a favourite of mine for a solid 2 years, I think it applies beautiful and covers up a multitude of sins. Until now, I've never found a budget alternative that could match or come close to being a dupe. Let me introduce you to the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, which to me is the closest drug store dupe I've come across.

The new launch from Rimmel contains SPF20 and aims to delivery invisible coverage whilst visibly perfecting fresh looking skin all day. It contains a wonder-tone technology to create a unique synergy between skin and foundation. It also contains light-reflecting and soft focus powers, which is what I think gives the overall perfected skin look. I find that with just one layer buffed in it creates a super flawless base than once powdered stays put all day. I find that the formula is incredibly easy to blend and doesn't transfer too much once set.

Not only does this rival high end foundations it's also pushed aside the L'Oreal foundation that I've been using solidly for over 3 months.

I have the shade 100 Ivory, which is a perfect match for pale skin with warm tones, but there are also 11 other shades ranging from 010 Light Porcelain to 504 Deep Mocha.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation is available from Boots, Superdrug and ASOS in 12 shades.

Autumn 2015 Clothing Wishlist

As Autumn is now in full swing, and it's my all time favourite season I thought I'd put together a selection of items I've been lusting after. Topshop & River Island has 20% off NUS discount until the end of the today (Friday 2nd Oct) so I may be purchasing most of these items. I'm really in to big waterfall coats and dusters at the moment because I think they look awesome and really chic with chunky knitwear and knee high boots!
