Skincare That Works Wonders

Face Masks For Dry Skin

We all have those moments where our skin is just freaking out and you feel totally out of control and just not yourself. Whenever this happens I have a few steps to bring my skin back to normal and along with drinking plenty of water there are a few products that I know I can always rely on. Firstly I always try and identify what the issue is, is my skin dry, flakey or breaking out? Once I’ve narrowed this part down I can then choose which products will work best.

For dry skin I have two masks, which are my holy grails and that I would recommend to anyone. Firstly is the Kiehls Algae Face Mask, which is the mask I use on all my flights as it’s incredible at turning around dry skin overnight. I slatter on a good layer and leave it for as long as possible. I like to use this as an overnight mask but it also does wonders if you have a just a few hours spare. My second hydrating mask is the Origins Drink Me Up Overnight Intensive Mask, which has the incredible smell of mangos and leaves you skin feeling babby soft. Like the Kiehls mask I like to apply this and leave it on overnight and it does a really great job at hydrating my skin and turning around a dull complexion.

If my skin is bumpy and flakey I always reach for some kind of chemical exfoliant as these buff away dead skin without being too harsh or irritating the skin. I love the Radical Age-Defying Exfoliating Pads as they’re super quick and work really well in the morning when I’m in a rush. I also love the Ren Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial as again it’s really quick but works really well at transforming my skin.

For congested skin I like to reach for some kind of mud mask, especially if I feel like I have quite a few black heads on my nose. My favourite is the Origins Clear Improvements Charcoal Mask as it really is a fuss free mask, you pop it on the desired area for around 15 minutes, let it dry and then remove with a warm face cloth. Unlike other mud masks I don’t find this leaves me skin dry or tight, which is something that really breaks my skin out.

If all else fails and my skin is having a bit of a moment then I will just strip everything back and go back to my tried and tested products and my number 1 skincare product is the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish.  My skin reacts really, really well to Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and I’m currently loving the limited edition Jasmin & Osmanthus scent.
