The Best Tanning Products

The Best Fake Tan

I’m officially in full on bronzing mode or at least giving my skin a bit of a glow for the summer. I have pretty fair skin that doesn’t really tan too well and I’ve now come to the age where I’ve realised that it’s just not worth getting burnt for a few weeks of tan. Instead, over the years I’ve worked my way through probably every tanning product out there to pick the best of the best and the products I would recommend to anyone.

Lets start with my holy grail tanning product, Dove Summer Glow for dark skin. This stuff is seriously incredible, it’s a gradual tanner that looks so natural and has never streaked over the 3 years I’ve been using it. If like me you have dry skin that doesn’t tan then you need to try this out as it really nourishes the skin so even the areas that are prone to staying white are able to tan. The colour it develops into is a beautiful medium toned tan, which I think looks really natural and fades without cracking.

If you want a darker tan overnight then my next go to product is Xen Dark Tanning Lotion Absolute Luxe. Firstly is smells like caramel when you’re applying it and is quite a thick sticky lotion but drys relatively quickly. What I’ve found with this product is it’s actually better to apply without a mit to get the most colour payoff, but make sure you wash your hands after! In the morning it does look quite streaky but the streaks wash off in the shower and you’re left with a golden all over natural looking tan.

When it comes to tanning my face the only brand I trust is Clarins. My go to products are the Instant Smooth Tanning Primer, which gives a lovely tan throughout the day and then also develops into a light tan. And the Radiance Plus Golden Glow Booster tanning drops, which I’m obsessed with because you can add them to any moisturiser and it creates a gradual tanner for the face.
