Clinique Turnaround Range

Clinique Turnaround Range

I'm going to let you into a little secret I haven't used any Clinique skincare since I was a teenager, it was the first skincare I used and I guess I just naturally grew out of it and started trying other brands. I've recently been trying out the Clinique Turnaround range and it's completely pushed out all of my other skincare out of the window, which never happens. The way the range works is by boosting the skins natural renewal to promote healthy and radiant looking skin.

The range consists of 5 products: Turnaround Revitalising Oil, Daytime Revitalising Moisturiser, Revitalising Serum, Overnight Revitalising Moisturiser, Revitalising Instant Facial.

I've noticed such a difference in my skin since using this range, some days my skin looks completely flawless and I think I would put that down to my favourite product from the range, the Revitalising Oil. It's an incredibly light oil, that almost feels like water and over time it retexturises the skin to restore luminosity and smoothness. It's also meant to strengthen the skin moisture barrier over time, which is exactly what I need as I always get dry skin. I'm also a huge fan of the moisturiser because it feels like it's really adding moisture into the skin but if I were to recommend one product that would make the biggest difference it would be the Oil.

The whole Clinique Turnaround range can be found in store or online at Debenhams.

Products I Would Recommend To A Friend

The best beauty products

I sometimes have to take a step back from all the different beauty products I recommend on my blog and think if I had to narrow it down what would I truly recommend to a friend what would I choose? I tried to pick 5 products but couldn't make my mind up so here are 6 of my favourite products that I would wholeheartedly recommend to a friend.

An old favourite of mine and I'm sure many others is the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, it's a really gentle cleanser and feels so silky when removing make up. I would recommend this to anyone from all ages and to all skin types. It's also not too pricey as really amazing skincare goes, which is always a plus.

For make up, I wanted to include my all time favourite mascara from Tarte, which I've spoken about so much on the blog. It manages to lengthen, add volume and just generally plump up the lashes in just one application. I always apply two coats because I like big lashes but if you struggle to find a mascara that adds volume I'd seriously give this a go.

I've recently fallen completely head over heels for the L'Oreal Matte Infalible foundation and I have been raving about it to anyone who will listen. I normally hate matte foundations because they look really dull and flat on the skin but for some reason this one just one prevents oil whilst also giving you a glow.

If you've read my blog for a while you'll know that I'm some what obsessed with Jo Malone, and I won't go on too much about it again but I would 100% recommend any of the perfumes or candles to anyone and everyone.

Shu Uemura eyelash curlers are the best ones out there, they add curl quicker than any other I've tried and don't pull on the lashes.

Lastly is another product I've raved non stop about and it's the Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfectors. They're so moisturising on the lips and naturally give the effect of fuller plumper looking lips. I love wearing these on make-up free or barely there make-up days.

Favourite Pink Blushers

I think Spring and Summer are the perfect time to bring out the pink blusher, it goes perfectly with dewy and natural skin and gives a really fresh faced look. I've picked out my favourite 5 pink blushers at different price points that I think work perfectly for this time of year. Lets go through them from most budget friendly to serious splurging.

I adore the Max Factor Creme Puff baked blushers because they sit really beautifully and give a nice glow to the skin. Another blush for adding a touch of glow to the skin is the Illuminating blush palette from Clarins as the four different sections have either a plain blush shade or one with shimmer in. I like to swirl my brush all around the palette to get a nice mix.

I've done a whole post on the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushers so I won't go on too much about why I love them but these are so perfect in the summer because they stay on your skin all day and come in a huge range of colours. I'm sure if the above Bobbi Brown blush is still available but I still wanted to add this as I know they have very similar colours in their range.

The last product I wanted to include is a definite splurge and it's from Tom Ford in Frantic Pink. If you're on the look our for a high end blusher that I'd recommend having a look at Tom Ford, they blend really well onto the skin and come in the most luxe packaging.

Royal Ascot Races Outfit Ideas

With Ascot season approaching I thought it was excellent timing to put together a few outfits. All the outfits include everything from the dress to the fascinator/hat and I think I've picked 3 outfits that would suit every taste. It's also coming up to Wedding season too and I definitely think all 3 of these outfits are both races and wedding appropriate.

I absolutely love Royal Ascot races, it's definitely one of my favourite events of the year and each year my friends and I always plan our outfits. I think this is half of the fun especially if you then get ready together because you can all try on each others hats and dresses. If you don't know much about the races then let me run through the different areas that you can buy tickets for.

Royal Enclosure is the most prestigious area to attend, and you generally need to be invited to go to this section. The dress code is strictly formal so that means hats, Kate Middleton esque dresses and generally nothing too over the top and too revealing.
Grand Stand is a little more relaxed, so you don't need a hat although you're more than welcome to wear one however, you do need to wear a fascinator.

Silver Ring is the most relaxed section where you don't need to wear a hat or fascinator but you still need to wear a fnice dress. This is the area that you're allowed to bring you own picnic and alcohol and if the sun is out this area is so much fun.

I've been to all areas over the years and they all equally as fun but I would suggest heading to the Silver Ring area if you don't particularly like formal events and don't want to spend a fortune on tickets and alcohol.

I hope you found this post useful in getting outfit inspiration and I'd love it if you tweet or tag me in your outfit photos if you head to the races.  I've got all my fingers crossed for good weather on he day and get planning for Gold Cup day, it's almost here!

Gold Cup day it's almost here!

5 Ways To Improve Your Blog

Tips on growing your blog

I've recently been putting in a lot of effort with my blog and I've noticed that my readers are definitely more engaged and I've attracted a lot more of you. I wanted to share with you some things I've been doing to improve my blog over the past few months as I know this is a really useful topic to discuss.

Content
Over Christmas I really had a good think about which direction I wanted to go with my blog and it made me realise that I needed to start creating content that readers would find useful and not just straight up product reviews. I find that posts about blogging tips and useful tips about beauty always go down really well and as these are posts that I love writing I've started to write a lot more of these.

Pictures
Along with improving content making an effort to improve you photos is probably the biggest thing that will help improve your blog. You don't need a fancy camera to take great photos as phones these days have such incredible cameras, but what I would say you need is really good natural lighting. The difference between a photo taken in natural and bright light and one with poor lighting is huge. This will also give you a better chance of your images being pinned on Pinterest.

Layout
Having a clean easy to use blog layout is likely to keep readers on your blog for much longer than if they can't navigate the blog. I like really simple chic layouts as I think they draw more attention to the content and pictures in posts.

Key Words
I know you probably hear this one a lot but adding a few key words into each post will really help new users find your post through google. My one tip with this one would be to just not over do it because too many forced key words would just look silly.

Mobile Friendly
Making my blog mobile friendly is probably the thing that has helped my blog grow more than anything and when I say mobile friendly I mean having a layout specifically designed for mobiles. My template is from Pipdig and with it comes a free mobile template that looks beautiful and sleek on all devices.

Muted Spring Pastels

If you love pastel shades but aren't brave enough to wear them on your nails then the Whisper collection from Deborah Lippmann is the one for you. All of the shades are very muted pastels and are so perfect for every day wear. With 2 coats you get a subtle amount of colour and with 3 you get an almost opaque look. With wedding season coming up I'd even say these are neutral enough to be worn by brides and bridesmaids. The range includes Like Dreamers Do, which is a muted lilac shade, A Fine Romance- a very sheer pale champagne shade, Chantlily Lace is a beautiful iridescent pink and one that would be stunning for a wedding and finally, finally Misty Morning, which is a light blue/grey shade.

I have a wedding coming up this year that I'm bridesmaid for and I think I'll definitely be rocking one of these as they're just so effortless and elegant.

Favourite People To Follow On Instagram

If you follow me on Instagram you'll know I post quite a lot and love a good flat lay and scenic shot. I would say Instagram is probably my favrouite social media platform both to share images but also to follow other beautiful accounts. For this reason I wanted to share with you some of my favourite girls to follow for fashion, beauty and lifestyle.

Gh0stparties- I've loved Kate's blog since before I started blogging and her Instagram photos are equally as beautiful. She has an incredible eye for detail and posts beautiful shots of her stunning home, this is an account to follow if you enjoy interiors, cats and skincare.

A Little Obsessed- My lovely friend Sabrina from A Little Obsessed has such a pretty account filled with lots of shots of make-up, food and outfits. Like me she also enjoys a good flat lay of beauty products.

The Pink Diary- beautiful chic and crisp flat lay shots, lots of flowers and the odd shot of New York, what more could you want?

Little Magpie- Amy's style and wardrobe are absolutely to die for and her Instagram is an endless roll of perfect outfit shots and beautiful lifestyle pics.

Lydia E Millen- if you love #ootd posts then this is the girl to follow, she has effortlessly chic style and hair that would make anyone envious of.

The Glam And Glitter- I'm sure you all know Tamara's blog and her Instagram is essentially an extension to that, she also includes snaps from her travels around the world so you get an insight how a fashionista lives.

I Covet Thee- A beauty blog I'm sure you all follow is Alix's from I Covet Thee and I adore her crisp, clean Instagram shots of make up, travel and food.

Labels For Lunch- This girl seriously knows how to flat lay with every image looking like it came from a magazine cover.

Prismologie Space NK Launch

Prismologie

If you're a lover of Space NK like me, you will frequently check their new in section and over the past few weeks you may have noticed a new brand launched called Prismologie. The idea behind the brand is to inspire you to live life colourfully by enhancing your day and mood by awakening the senses with beautiful fragrances, luxurious textures and rare ingredients. There's a huge amount of psychology that goes into how you feel throughout the day and this can be influenced by the clothes you wear and the scents you smell. So by applying a moisturiser that's aimed at making you feel energised it can completely shift you mood in the morning.

The collection consists of 6 different coloured ranges and within each colour there are 2 products. The way the range works is that the colours and unique scents to each range will induce the exact mood that you want to feel for the day.

Pink- Pink O'Clock, which is my personal favourite is for compassion

Red- The Red Hour for energy

White- White Beginning for clarity

Blue- Indigo Interlude for stillness

Green- Green Epoch for serenity

Yellow- Yellow Day for confidence

The products are also all designed to work together so that you can apply something from each range throughout the day depending on how you want to feel. For example you would use something from the Yellow Day range in the morning for a energised start to the day, a product from the Red Hour at lunch time and Green Epoch in the evening for serenity and balance.

My favourite products from the range are the rich body cream from White Beginning as it's such a luxurious feeling cream and the hand cream from Pink O'Clock as I adore the rose and honey scent. The range is definitely expensive with products ranging from £30-£55 but if you like investing in good quality skincare then I'd definitely recommend having a look at the range when you're next in Space NK

NutriBullet Recipes

I got a NutriBullet in March and since then I've been obsessed with making different smoothies, soups and juices. I wanted to share with you some of my favourite juice recipes that I've been loving recently as I think it's the easiest way to inject a bit of goodness into your diet. What I love the most about my NutriBullet (I promise this isn't sponsored) is that is so easy to use as there's only the cup that needs cleaning afterwards, and it's so quick!

When making a juice I tend to always try and add some kind of green leaf to really pack in the nutrients. It's then good to add some kind of fruit to make it a little sweeter as I find too many greens make the juice really bitter. Depending on how I feel I'll also add in some nuts or chia seeds, fill up with water or coconut water to the line and add in a few ice cubes.

I've list 3 of my current favourite recipes for you to try and if I make any more I love I'll do another post. Please send me your recipes as I'm always up for trying new things.

Super Green Juice
Handful of Spinach
Handful of Kale
1 x Pear
1 x Apple
Water
Ice

Refreshing Green Juice
1 x Apple
Handful of Mint
Handful of Spinach
1/4 cucumber
Coconut Water
Ice

Healthy Orange Juice
1 x carrot
1 small cube of ginger
Handful of grapes
1 x Orange

That Forever 21 Chloe Dupe

Chloe Drew Bag Dupe

If you're a lover of Instagram you will have probably seen images of the Chloe Drew bag going around and rightly so, it's an insanely beautiful bag. Well what you may also know is that Forever 21 are selling a pretty incredible dupe for £17. It comes in cream, black and tan I managed to get my hands on one of the tan ones, which was actually the last one in the shop so I grabbed it and ran! Apart from wanting it to be a tad bigger it's the perfect summer bag and I think it looks so high end for £17. I really love the gold detailing on the chain and clasp and think the colour is the perfect tan for sunny weather. This bag is currently sold out online (in the UK, it's available in the US), but Forever 21 tend to re stock items that are popular so keep your eyes peeled! Whilst looking for this bag I also notice that Forever 21 do quite a few good designer bag dupes, so if you love designer handbags but can't afford the price tan then get yourself down to Forever 21!

Skincare for Sensitive Skin

Skincare for Sensitive Skin

I would say I normally have quite good skin, I get the odd blemish and the odd dry spot but generally my skin is quite clear, until recently that is. The past few weeks I've been having so many issues with my skin, blemishes, a lot of dry spots and general dullness. In an effort to combat this I've decided to strip back my skincare to natural and gentle products and those that I know work with my skin. I decided to go back to the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish as it's really gentle and I know that my skin doesn't react badly to it. Likewise with The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Remover, I've been using this for a good few months and can't fault it.

To combat redness I've been using the Pai Rosehip BioGenerate Fruit & Seed Oil Blend, which is a serum used for reducing redness and scaring. I've been using this for a little over a week morning and night and I'd say on the second day I noticed a huge difference in the redness on my cheeks. I'm genuinely so impressed with this product that I've looked into exactly how it works. It contains sterols and delivers Trans-Retinoic Acid directly to the epidermis, which is then converted to Vitamin A to boost the skins natural healing process. This basically means it speeds up the healing process and encourages growth of new cells. If you suffer from redness I would highly recommend using this product as you'll see a difference in days.

On top of this I've been adding my favourite Clarins Hydraquench Moisturiser , which is a thick cream moisturiser and then the Clarins Skin Repair Concentrate for any extra dry patches.

I think the key thing to remember when your skin is reacting badly is to just stop using anything new and go back to your tried and tested products. As a beauty blogger I'm constantly trying out new products and sometimes things just don't agree with my skin so I have to strip it back.

The Blue Nails Edit

Blue Nail Polish

I've recently been really into blue pastel nails and I wanted to share with you some of my favourite shades from really light white blues to electric blue. I was actually quite surprised at how many blue polishes I own, as I normally tend to stick to deep red and pink shades I didn't think I'd have around 10 blue polishes! I've tried to pick a real mixture so even if you're a little colour shy there will still be a shade that I can recommend to you.

Pastel Blues- these are probably my favourite shade of blue to wear and I think it's one that anyone can pull off. For this category I've picked Topshop Buff and Barry M Eat My Dust from their quick dry range. These are both very light/white/blue shades and are perfect for Spring.

Medium Tones- Nails Inc Sheraton Street is a deeper pastel blue that is just a shade darker from the lighter pastels and then Got The Blues from The Body Shop is more of a violet blue but still very wearable. I have Sheraton Street on today and I'd say its like a creamy mid tone blue.

Bright Blues- If you're a little braver with your nail colours then I'd definitely recommend Glazed Cobalt from Max Factor and Feeling Blue from Models Own. Both these colours would look beautiful in the summer on tanned skin holding a cocktail.

Spring Perfume Favourites

Spring Perfumes

Spring is my favourite season for scents as I love light and floral perfumes and I think that  those scents fit the season perfectly. I thought for this post instead of featuring 4 new perfumes I'd introduce you to 2 old favourites and 2 new favourites from recent releases. I've spoken about the Jo Malone London Blue Skies and Blossom Spring collection in this post and I'm still absolutely in love with the Plum Blossom scent. They have completely encapsulated the essence of Spring in the scent and bottle. Another new fragrance is from Dipytque and it's their Florabellio Eau De Toilette. This is such a unique scent as it has notes of sea salt, fennel, coffee and apricot scented Osmanthus. I would say this is quite a heavy Spring scent but also light at the same time. This is one I wear in the evenings or for date nights.

A very light and feminine scent and one that instantly makes me think of sunshine and rolling fields is Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream. I think this is a perfume that would work for women of all ages, it's light enough for young girls to wear but as it has notes of musk and jasmine it means it's not too sweet.

Lastly is a perfume I picked up when I was last in New York and it's Elizabeth and James Nirvana White. This is a very musky peony, floral scent and is so perfect for Spring and Summer evenings. I would describe this as feminine, floral and sensual and I also think the packaging is very chic.

I know the perfume is so personal but hopefully I've picked a nice mixture of scents to suit everyone!

Making The Most Out Of Your Wardrobe

If you follow me on Instagram (nice little plug) you have seen that last week I went on a whirlwind trip to Brussels with P&G, which I've done a nice little vlog about that will be coming your way soon. On the trip I learnt that on average we only wear 20% of our clothes! That means that 80% of everything we wear goes unworn.

During the trip we learnt that everything down to the sound your clothes make when you're going through your wardrobe adds to your choice on what to wear that day. This is called cognitive science and includes scent, sound and touch so although you think you have your favourite items because of how they look there's actually a lot more that goes into it. Of course if an item is faded or discoloured you will rather wear something else. The amount of white blouses and tops I've had to throw away because I've managed to turn them a funny grey colour is endless. On the trip I learn so much about fabric care from brands like Ariel and Lenor. I had one of those ah-ha moments when I finally realised that you need to use products known for keeping clothes fresh and smelling amazing to see the benefits and not just cheaper alternatives.

All these different factors that add to which clothes you pick really do explain the quote 'a wardrobe full of clothes with nothing to wear'. I definitely have my favourite outfits that I always gravitate towards but it's got me thinking that I should really make more of an effort to shop my own clothes. I find that when I go away for a few days and I only have a small number of clothes I get so much more inventive with my outfits and think of different ways to wear them.

I know I  buy new clothes because I feel more confident in new items than old ones, which seems silly but also ties in with why we always but new dresses for special occasions. I'm going to set myself a challenge over the next few weeks to not buy any new clothes, well I'm going to try my best and instead I'm going look through my wardrobe and rediscover long lost items. I'm actually also going to wash all my clothes with both Ariel and Lenor to see if it really makes a difference and whether I will fall back in love with old items. I think Spring is the perfect time to do this as it's not quite warm enough that we need new summer clothes and it's still chilly enough that we can recycle Autumn/Winter items

Blogger Advice: Tips On Approaching PR's

I always get e-mails from readers asking how to approach with PR companies and brands and what is the best way to work with them. I think a lot of bloggers these days start blogs because of the samples, but I just want to say that if this is the reason you blog then it probably won't last very long. It takes a lot of hours and hard work to get to a point of receiving samples and you have to truly love blogging to put in that amount of effort. However if you pour your heart and soul into your blog and now want to start working with brands I have a few tips on how to approach companies.

Introduce yourself
Firstly you need to introduce yourself. This can be done a number of different ways, through twitter, Instagram or e-mail. I would say the most effective way is by finding an e-mail for the brand you want to work with and sending them an e-mail introducing yourself and your blog. I would give a little information about your blog and why you think it would work with that particular brand.

Mailing List
In the initial e-mail I would strongly recommend you do not ask for samples or send a shopping list of things you want to try as this gives the wrong impression. I would however ask to be added to their mailing list and this way you can keep in the loop with all the new launches and information.

Be Polite
Always be polite and never demanding, PR's get a lot of e-mails from bloggers everyday and if you don't come across well in your e-mail they may not reply.

Meet In Person
Once you're had a few e-mails with a PR I would always recommend trying to meet for a coffee as this is the best way to build a relationship. This way you get to know the brand a little bit better and it helps them to put a face to a blog.

I hope you found this post useful as I know when I started a blog I had no idea about how to approach PR companies and brands. Do let me know if you have any other questions and hopefully I can shed some light.

5 Things To Do In London This Bank Holiday Weekend

During the bank holiday weekends I always like to try and make the most of my time off from work and living in London means there's always something new to do! I've put together a list of ideas to make the most of the 3 day weekend.

1. Try a new bar
One of my favourite things to do in London is finding new cocktail and rooftop bars to visit. There are so many popping up every week, especially in Soho and Shoreditch that you're bound to stumble upon one!

2. Go for a long walk
Another one of my favourite things to do is to go on a long walk in one of the parks around London. It makes me feel like I'm back in the countryside and generally feels like I've been on a mini break. I'd recommend exploring Richmond Park because it's absolutely huge and if you go to a certain part you can see deer. There are also a bunch of restaurants and bars along to river which are really picturesque.

3. Explore a different area
Sometimes when you've lived in a city for a while you can get stuck going to certain places, this doesn't just apply to London, you can get in this rut wherever you live. My boyfriend and I like to pick different areas to explore every now and then and we always discover something new and it makes me love London even more.

4. Visit an exhibition
Beside all of the main museums like the V&A and Natural History Museum there are also some amazing exhibitions to visit. The Saatchi gallery always has really interesting and cool exhibitions, which are sometimes quite odd but definitely worth a visit.

5. Try a new restaurant
As with new bars there are always new restaurants to try in London. I really like trying new pop up eateries as they're always really unique and such a fun experience. I did a post of a list of my favourite places to eat in London so have a look at that if you're visiting London and want some ideas.
