Favourite Berry Lips

Gosh-

I mentioned before how I love to wear a berry lip during winter, so I thought it was about time that I showed you some of my favourite shades. The above selection is a mixture of really deep berry shades to more of a deep pink shade. My favourite deep purple has to be Black Cherry from Revlon as it's such a dark colour and I think this looks amazing in the winter. It's also a really lovely balm like formula so doesn't dry the lips out.

The next shade is a new one from Bobbi Brown from the Scotch On The Rocks Collection in the shade Bordeaux. This is closer to a dark red/brown shade but works really well this time of year. In the middle is Melanie from Joan Collins, and can we just take a moment to appreciate the beautiful gold packaging?! This is definitely in more in the bright pink category but I think it's definitely got some berry tones running through it.

Rebel from Mac is a bit of a cult classic among  beauty bloggers as it's one of those berry shades that suits almost everyone. It's from the Satin range of lipsticks from Mac so sits smoothly on the lips without any sheen. Lastly is a much more budget friendly lipstick from Gosh in the shade Boheme, which again is a lovely berry/pink shade.

The Body Shop Glazed Apple

If you're a lover of sweet festive scents then let me introduce you to The Body Shop's Glazed Apple collection. It's one of their new Christmas releases for this year and I think this is perfect for Teens or those that love sweet smells. The Glazed Apple Bath Jelly creates big fluffy bubbles with a sweet apple scent that lingers on the skin.

Along with the Bah Jelly I've also been having a play with the body butter. If you've read my blog before you'll know it's no secret that I love The Body Shop body butters. They're so perfect for Winter as they're really thick and moistuirsing and perfect for getting rid of dry skin.

The Body Shop Christmas collections are now available online and in store.

Christmas Beauty Baubles 2014

I love that more and more brands are making beauty baubles, they're the best way to try out a new product and look ridiculously cute. Beauty baubles make perfect stocking or Secret Santa gifts as most of them are below £10. I think my favourite from this year's releases is definitely from Jo Malone, it contains a mini sample of Pomegranate Noir Fragrance and English Pear and Freesia Body Creme.

The White Company Winter Collection

I'm feeling so Christmasy and festive and I've started to fill my house with probably one too many Christmas candles and diffusers. My favourite Christmas scent has got to be from The White Company and it's their Winter range. I attended their press day back in June and completely fell in love with this range so I'm over the moon it's finally available in stores.

It's a mixture of sweet cinnamon and clove with a dash of fresh orange and is such a spicy yet warming scent that just screams Christmas. I love pillar candles that have spices and fruit molded into the wax, I think they look so festive and work really well on the dinning room table. Next I picked up a diffuser from the Winter range as it's a really good size so will last for a good few years if I only use it around Christmas. And finally from my collection is the Winter room spray. I use this for a quick blitz of Wintery goodness in rooms that don't have the diffuser or candle in.

Winter is available now in store and online at The White Company along with all of their other Christmas scents.

Winter Beauty Favourites

During the Winter I like to change up my beauty products mostly because my skin gets dry but also because I like to wear darker shades on my nails and lips. The quickest and easier way to change up your make-up for winter is by using a berry lip colour. I'm loving Black Cherry from Revlon at the moment, it's a really deep berry shade that I think would suit most skin tones. Along with a berry lip I also like wearing dark nail polish, I adore the gel finish polishes from Nails Inc and High Street Kensington is one of my favourite shades.

My skin gets super dry in the winter, especially my legs so I love slathering on a good layer of The Body Shop body butters at night as they're super hydrating and small amazing. Along with lots of moistuiser I'd noticed that using the Venus ProSkin Sensitive razor* has really helped with my itchy dry legs in the winter.

Dry lips are inevitable during the winter, they're sore and make your lipstick look flaky. To try and combat this I cannot rave enough about Reve De Miel from Nuxe, it's one of my holy grail products and is the most hydrating lip balm I've come across. Oh, it also smells liked oranges. I also get dry patches on my face when it gets cold, I know, I was blessed with the dry skin gift. Another one of my holy grail products is the Algae Face Masque from Kiehls, I've raved about this enough so I won't go on, but it's the most hydrating face mask I've come across!

A perfume I fell in love with last winter is Do Son by Dipytque, the only way I can describe the smell is cosy and warming. As soon as I spray it I instantly feel cosy and wintery and this is my favourite time of year to use it.

DIY Christmas Decorations

During November and December I love filling my flat with festive and spiced scents. nNrmally I buy lots of cinnamon and clove smelling candles but this year I thought I'd make some homemade decorations. I think this is the easiest and quickest way to make your home smell festive and it will cost you less than £5- that's much cheaper than a £30 candle!

All you will need is:
2 X Oranges
1 pot of whole cloves
Ribbon- I got mine from Tiger for £1

This is literally the easiest thing to make, all you need to do is push the cloves into orange trying not to squash the tops too much. I like to try and keep my lines as straight as possible to make a nice pattern. Then once you've covered the whole orange in cloves tie a nice bow with your ribbon and you're done.

The smell that these oranges produce is the most Christmasy scent ever, and I think they look really pretty placed around the house.

A Week In Photos

So this week I thought I would bring back my weekly Instagram update s it's been a while and I'm liking the festive feel to my photos at the moment.

A little DIY project I'm working on for an upcoming festive post. My flat now smells beautiful!

Earlier this week I popped along to the Ted Baker SS15 press day and spied these beautiful suitcases. I love the floral pattern against the black and think it looks really cool- a very stylish way to travel.

Picking some beautiful festive flowers at the Warehouse press day.

A cosy outfit of the day- I'm so happy that's it's finally sweater weather as roll necks are my new favourite thing. Bag- H&M, Sweater- Gap, Skirt- Dorothy Perkins, Boots- New Look and Coat- ASOS

I've had a cold for well over a week now so I thought I'd use the Lush Wizard bubble bar to cheer myself up. You can't beat a purple bath!

A very lovely personalised invite to a Christmas bloggers event.

My boyfriend and I took a trip to the 4th floor of Liberty to shop for our first Christmas decorations. As we moved in together earlier this year, this will be our Christmas together and I couldn't be more excited to start our collection. If you haven't visited the Christmas floor at Liberty you really should. It's so beautiful and magical and full of the most beautiful decorations.

Earlier this week I blogged about the most beautiful collection from Bobbi Brown- Scotch On The Rocks- head over to my blog post if you haven't already seen it. I think the eyeshadow palette is definitely one for the Christmas wishlist.

And finally I went for the most delicious meal at Patara in Soho with some friends. It serves amazing Thai food and takes me right back to my Thailand travels which were almost a year ago! This year has absolutely flown by!

Philip Kingsley Take Comfort Kit

It's not every day that you could across a bargain in the high end beauty world. I was recently perusing the Marks and Spencer beauty section as saw this Philip Kingsley Try Me Kit. The set includes minis of the Itchy Flake shampoo and conditioner and their most famous product, the Elasticizer for only £5!

I've been wanting to try the Elasticizer for a really long time but couldn't justify the price when I already have about 5 other treatments to get through. I thought this kit was perfect for me as not only do I get to try out the Elasticizer but also one of his shampoos and conditioners, oh and it also comes with a £5 off Philip Kingsley voucher!

You can pick up the Try Me Kit in Take Comfort and Pure Silver for £5 online and in store at Marks and Spencer

Bobbi Brown Scotch On The Rocks Collection

I'm going to put it out there that appearance wise, Scotch On The Rocks is my favourite collection that Bobbi Brown have released. I love the mix of golds, browns and leather, I think it's the perfect collection for the party season and looks so luxe.

The collection contains 4 Lipsticks bordeaux, Malt Shimmer, Beige Gold Shimmer and Sultry Red (£22* each), 2 limited edition Hightlight Powders Bronze Glow & Pink Glow(£34*), 3 Lip Glosses Scarlet, Gold, Belini (£29*), 3 Nail Polishes  Bordeaux, Cherry Tomatoe & Scotch (£11*) and then the star of the show, the Warm Glow Eye Palette (£59*).

My favourite shade from the Lipsticks is Bordeaux as during Autumn/Winter I love wearing deep reds and purple lip colours.

My favourite piece from the collection is hands down the Warm Glow Eye Palette, I mean, just look at it! I love the idea of leather packaging and it fits in so perfectly with the name Scotch On The Rocks as it immediately makes me think of a small dimly lit bar in Soho with big leather arm chairs. The colours in the palette are also lovely with a mix of nudes, gilded golds and scotch-inspired browns. I find that the colours blend together beautifully creating the perfect smokey brown eye that last all day

The Highlight Powders give a beautiful subtle glow that isn't too over powering and looks lovely on the tops of the cheek bones.

Scotch On The Rocks Collection is available now online here and in store. If you're looking to treat yourself to some party make up then look no further!

Nars Digital World Lip Collection

Something that I've had my eye on since spying it on the Space NK website is the new Nars Digital World Lip Collection. I think I'm having a bit of a Nars appreciation moment right now as I just can't seem to get enough of their products- old and new!

The collection contains 2 matte lip pencils in Iberico and Cruella and 3 Satin lip pencils in Torres Del Paine, Descanso and Yu.

The shades that I think I'll get the most wear out of are Cruella as this is such a lovely vampy red for the Winter and Descanso as this is a great everyday colour. The only colour that I don't think I'll wear that much is Iberico because I don't think orange really suits me that much but that could change in the summer.

Normally the Nars lip pencils are £18 so getting 5 slightly smaller versions (1.8g) for £32 is amazing value for money! I'm so happy with this set and I'm pretty sure this will sell out before Christmas so if you want to get your hands on it I'd move quick. This would be a really great gift for any girl who loves wearing different lip colours or just any beauty lover.

Nars Digital World Collection is available online and in store in Space NK

No 7 Beauty Advent Calendar

I love that more brands are now bringing out beauty advent calendars, I think it's such an amazing idea and gives you the chance to try out so many different products. This year No7 are releasing their first beauty calendar and at £35 I think it's such good value for money compared to all the others on the market. You get 24 doors of miniature or deluxe sized samples of skin care, make up, nail varnish and make up brushes.

If you fancy treating yourself to an early Christmas present then beauty calendars are definitely the way forward.

The beauty advent is currently sold out online but I imagine they will be getting more in stock but I would also check your local store as I saw them in a central London branch last week.

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Chic

Along with their luxurious make-up, Estee Lauder are also known for their sophisticated perfumes. Their newest release is Modern Muse Chic is an extension of the award winning Modern Muse.

Modern Muse Chic is a mix between vivid florals and ebony woods, which sounds like it would be an over powering fragrance but it's actually strong without being too much. The complex fragrance is meant to represent the the modern woman being both feminine and masculine.

I find that the fragrance lasts throughout the day and develops into quite a delicate musky smell. I love the bow on top of the bottle as I think it looks quite boxy so again gives the impression of something quite girlie but with a masculine twist.

Along with the new perfume they have also released new colours to their a line of Matte Nail Polishes. There are 5 shades in the collection and I have the navy and bright pink shade. They come in the true luxe nail polish packaging with a lovely thick brush which I think gives a neater application. Being matte, I find that the polishes last much longer on my nails and you can also have the option of painting a top coat over the top to make them shiny.

Clarins Essentials Palette 2014

Clarins Essentials Palette- £35*

Now that we're in November I can finally start sharing some exciting Christmas releases with you. There's one thing that always makes the perfect gift for a beauty junkie, and that's a new make-up palette. Clarins always bring out a new eyeshadow palette for Christmas and this year is no exception.

The new Essentials palette from Clarins is mixture of 10 beautiful mattes, satins and pearl shades and is so perfect for the party season. You know by now that I love a brown smokey eye and I adore the shades in this palette as you have the usual browns and pale nude shades but there is also a beautiful red/purple shade. I love using this colour all over the lid as I think it looks amazing with bluey green eyes. My other favourite shade is the gold chunky glitter one as the colour pay off is amazing and actually sits beautifully on the lid.

The palette comes with a small mirror and a double ended brush, I'm not a huge fan of the packaging as it looks and feels a little flimsy but the shadows are lovely. The shadows are pressed pigments so can be used both wet and dry for different effects. I prefer the shades in the second half of the palette as I think they have a little more colour pay off.

The Essentials Palette is available online and in store now at Debenhams, House of Fraser and John Lewis for £35.
