Berry Nails

I've mentioned this before, but I really love berry nails, it's my favourite nail polish colour and I definitely own one too many shades that are all identical. I've blogged about the newly released Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquer polishes before and I'm totally in love with the shade Sparkling Berry as I think it's the perfect deep red shade. The Gel Shine Lacquers apply super shiny and thick and with a good base and top coat last around 4 days.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushers

Since being introduced into the world of Tarte there are a few stand out products that I've placed firmly into my daily make up routine and one of them is their 12 hour Amazonian Clay Blusher. They come in a range of different shades and I've found that they all suit my skin tone, which is quite rare. They apply beautifully and last for hours on the skin, which is really handy for when I go out after work as it means I don't have to touch up.

I have the shades Fearless, Flush, Dazzled and Natural Beauty and  and I love them all but my two favourites are Fearless as this makes my cheeks look nice and rosey and Dazzled works really well with a nude lip. They're also super pigmented so you don't need to apply too much for a good amount of colour payoff.

Tarte is available in the UK from QVC but if you're a lucky American then you can pick up all shades from Sephora.

Bobbi Brown New Releases

As you know, Bobbi Brown are one of my favourite beauty brands and their releases always get me so excited. If you're an eyeliner lover you'll probably be familiar with the Bobbi Brown Gel Liner, well they've just brought out their Long-Wear Sparkle Eyeliners and they're pretty damn good. These are just as long lasting and pigmented but they come in a variety of different colours and are so perfect for party season. They can be wore blended out over the lid or as a liner and they work amazingly either way applied with the duel smudge and eyeliner brush. I have the shades Night Sky and Smokey Topaz and my favorite is Night Sky as it makes a nice change to black.

Their other new release is the Smokey Nudes collection and once again Bobbi Brown absolutely brought it with their Eye Shadow Palette. It's full of nudes, brown and blacks in a mixture of shimmers and mattes to create a beautiful smokey eye. Along with the palette the range also contains a new addition to the Shimmer Brick in Sandstone and four matte lipsticks. I have the shades Warm Nude and Soft Nude, and Soft Nude is such a lovely winter nude. I would say that Warm Nude is a little too concealer like and made me look too washed out.

The packaging of the smokey nudes collection also comes in incredibly beautiful tortoise shell packaging, which makes a nice change from their sleek black packing. Now who's excited for their Christmas Collection?!

The Autumnal Nails Edit

Nails Inc Alexa Chung- Uptown*
Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquer- Sheen Merlot*
Models Own Utopia
L'Oreal Colour Riche Addictve Plum
Nails Inc Gel Effect- Grovsner Crescent*
Nails Inc Gel Effect- Hyde Park Place*
Butter London- Full Steam Ahead*
Barry M Gelly Shine- Almond
Max Factor Gel Shine Lacquer- Sparkling Berry*

I'm a big fan of dark berries and grey coloured nails during the colder months. I think it's because I tend to wear darker clothes in the Winter and I feel like dark nails just pull the outfit together. Above I've selected a few of my favourite shades that I've been loving recently for both their colour and formula.

I absolutely love the formula of the Nails Inc Gel Effect polishes, they go on super shiny and last a good amount of time without chipping- even on my chip prone nails. They also come in a huge range of shades now and lots of darker colours for Autumn/Winter. Another one from Nails Inc is the Alexa Chung Polish in the shade Uptown, this is an amazing nude shade and the formulation is excellent. Whenever I wear it people ask whether I have gel polish on, it's super shiny, glossy and thick looking and last a really long time.

This summer Max Factor launched their Gel Shine Lacquers and again these are super shiny and glossy and I love the shades Sparkling Berry and Sheen Merlot.  The last gel effect polish is from Barry M in the shade Almond, this is a really love beige shade and if you like thick polishes you'll love this range.

Lastly, I really love the Butter London Polish in Full Steam Ahead for a dark grey, Models Own in Utopia is probably in my top 5 favourite shades as its a beautiful milky beige and Addictive Plum from the L'Oreal Colour Riche range is another great berry shade.

Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide

If you're forever looking for a make-up base that looks like you're not wearing any make-up, then look no further because I've found the perfect product for you. The Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Foundation gives such a natural complexion and makes you look like you're hardly wearing anything. Of course with all light coverage foundations, the coverage isn't amazing but it's pretty good and I think it does a brilliant job at evening out the skin tone.

The foundation contains something called bi-phase two part formular so you have to give the bottle a good shake to mix the colour true pigments and reflective waters as this create a fresh colour each time.

This foundation gives a lovely natural glow and healthy look to the skin, the exact kind of skin that looks beautiful on cold mornings all wrapped up in knitwear.

The Body Shop Radiant Highlighter

I love the look of a natural highlight and the kind of glowing from within effect it gives. I've tried my fair share of products that aim to give you that healthy glow look and until now nothing has really come close the my loved Mary-Louminizer from The Balm.

Earlier this month, The Body Shop released their Radiant Highlighter product, which is a creamy liquid highlight that with the tiniest amount makes you look like you've got the skin of a Victoria Secret angle. It's a very easy product to apply and unlike some creamy products it blends in flawlessly without leaving a mark on your foundation. You need only the smallest amount to give a beautiful glow which means the tube will last months!

Radiant Hughlighter is available now in store or online at The Body Shop.

Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser

Earlier this month I can home to a lovely thoughtful gift from Liz Earle for the launch of their new skin care product. The new Superskin Moisturiser with natural neroli contains all the properties of the original superskin moisturiser with the addition of pomegranate flower extracts which are meant to protect the collagen in your skin.

Unlike the original Superskin, the new release is quite heavily scented with essential oils or neroli, lavadin and chamomile. If you don't like strongly scented face creams then this product isn't for you as it really is quite potent. Surprising though, this doesn't break my skin out and I have fairly sensitive skin when it comes to strongly scented products. I like to use this at night as I find the scent quite soothing and it's a lovely rich and nourishing moisturiser to apply at night. It also works really well as a day time moisturiser too as it sits nicely under make up.

La Roche Posay- Effaclar 3-Step Anti Blemish System

As I'm sure you know by now, I'm a huge fan of French skincare and particularly La Roche Posay's Effaclar range. Effaclar Duo + (full review here) is one of my hero skincare products so I love that they have now brought out a 3 step blemish kit. I think it's a really great way to try out 3 products from the brand and range if you haven't used La Roche Posey before and all 3 products aim to give clear skin.

The kit contains a Foaming Cleanser, Clarifying Toner, and Effaclar Duo +. From the set I of course love the Effaclar Duo + but I've also really enjoyed using the toner as I've found it's really made a difference to the clarity of my skin. I mentioned this a little more in my monthly favourites video- link here. I wasn't a huge fan of the cleanser as I generally don't like foaming cleansers as my skin doesn't react well to them, but that doesn't mean they won't work for you.

Overall I would recommend picking up the kit as I think the Effaclar range is brilliant and does a great job at giving me clear skin.

Tired Eyes

I find that as the weather gets colder I really struggle with waking up in the morning and I generally just feel and look much more tired. In an effort to try and cover this up I've collected a few products that I think reduce the bags and dark circles under my eyes.

Eye Creams- When you've got tired and puffy eyes it's good to try and reduce the puffyness with a cold eye cream. A lot of eye creams now come with metal roller balls, which cool the under eye area. I've recently been using the new Vitamin C Duo* from The Body Shop and whilst I'm not a huge fan of the second side I do really enjoy using the roller ball side. After I use this I then go in with another eye cream to add a bit of extra hydration. I really like the new Time In A Bottle Eye Cream from Philosophy* as it's a lovely light serum and feels quite soothing on the eyes.

Concealer- Once I've applied eye creams I then go in with two concealers, one to cover dark circles and another to brighten. I love the consistency of the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and the Nars Creamy Concealer is also lovely and creamy so I'll use one of these for coverage. I'll then go in with the By Terry Densiliss Concealer* to brighten the area under and around my eyes.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation

As we go into the colder months I like to wear a foundation the gives a little more coverage as I find heavy foundations sit nicer on my skin in the Winter compared to in the Summer.
