Central Park- New York

If you follow me on any of my social media you’ll have noticed that I was in New York the past week. I adore New York, I feel a real connection to the city and love everything about it. It has the same kind of buzz that London has but on a far grander scale, as everything is ginormous from the buildings to the food.

During our stay the weather was insanely hot and humid, on one of the days it hit around 33 degrees, which was almost unbearable. This was the day we picked to go for a picnic and walk in Central Park. We wanted to go to a deli style place and pick up some nibbles before heading to the park but quickly realised these are quite hard to find in the middle of New York without the internet.

After eventually finding somewhere we picked up some bread and cheese etc then found a lovely little spot in the park. One of my favourite things to do is people watching, I could sit and do this all day, especially in a beautiful park. We sat in the park for a good few hours people watching, chatting and generally cooling down before going to explore.

I love Central Park, I think the contrast between the huge amount of grass and trees with the skyscrapers in the background is awesome and unlike anything else. One of my favourite areas is by the bandshell walking down towards the lake. You can sit on the benches and watch the various different entertainers for hours.

I really wanted to go to the Central Park Boat House as I love the location it’s in and I’ve heard from a number of people how good it is. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to fit in a trip but I think that justifies another NYC trip next year!

I took a ridiculous amount of photos on my trip so expect more New York posts for the next few days!
