Wild About Beauty AW13

A few weeks ago I was invited to an evening at House of Fraser (yes this post is very overdue) for a preview and chat about the AW13 Wild About Beauty collection from the lovely Louise Redknapp and her make-up artist Kim Jacob. I’ll admit that I’m a sucker for old beauty favourites, but one of the things I love most about blogging is finding out about new and exciting beauty brands. Wild About Beauty was created to give the everyday woman an affordable, high performing make-up brand that contains nourishing and benefiting ingredients to really work on improving your overall complexion.

The new collection contains a whole host of eye popping lip colours, polishes and my personal favourite, the shadow sticks. The collection was inspired from the polished, timeless elegance of the catwalks with an aim to talk you from natural beauty to night-time glamour.

I’ve been lucky enough to try some of the products from Wild About Beauty and I have to say, I’ve been really impressed with the overall quality of the products and I absolutely love the packaging. One of their best sellers is the Botanical Skin Prep Serum– £22* and I can definitely see why- its packed full of skin care ingredients to nourish and rejuvenate whilst priming your skin to create a great base for make-up. You can use it as a moisturiser or on top of your moisturiser (which I do) before applying your foundation to create an overall smooth finish.

Another favourite of both Louise and Kim is the Smooth Cover Concealer Kit– £19.50*, which contains a duo concealer on the top level and then HD setting powder on the bottom. The idea of the HD powder is to set the concealer so that it doesn’t budge all day, but I tend to use it on my T-Zone too to keep shine at bay.

Moving on to my favourite product from their range is their Eyeshadow Pencil Duo– £14.50* from the Midnight Lux collection. I think these shadow sticks are incredible, they’re really well pigmented so give the perfect pop of colour in the day, which can then be built up to something a little more of a dramatic look for evening wear.

Lastly the nail polishes- again, I was so impressed with these too. When we were sat chatting with the girls I quickly applying the grey colour (Harry) without any base coat or top coat and it lasted without chips for 2-3 days! The colours I have here are from both the Signature and Seasonal collection- The grey colour is called Harry*, which I would describe as a perfect elephant grey and then the black colour is called Michael*- both £9.00.

I’m totally sold on this brand because lets face it, if we can improve the overall quality of our skin whilst wearing make-up then it’s a definite winner in my eyes.
