Afternoon Tea at the Leonard Hotel

Instead of buying presents for each other, my housemate and I normally plan an event like the ballet, theater or an afternoon tea. I think it’s such a good idea because you don’t have worry about presents and it means that you have something to look forward to after your birthday is over.

So on Sunday, S and I went to an Afternoon tea at the Leonard Boutique Hotel in Mayfair to celebrate us turning 24!!!!

It was exactly what I needed after a very busy week and weekend.

When we arrived we were greeted by the lovely doormen in their traditional attire and lead to the dining room where we were to be seated where ever we liked.

The dining room was truly beautiful, it looked like it had been transported straight from Hampton Court palace. One of the walls was completely covered with paintings in old frames and the other walls features old portraits.

With the afternoon tea package we received a 3 tier stack of finger sandwiches, cakes and scones along with a glass if champagne, a choice or tea and a pot of strawberries. How very quintessentially British.

As we leisurely worked our way through the mountain of food it was easy to forgot where we were and the troubles of the real world.

As there was so much food I didn’t manage to eat it all, but the waiter was more than happy to give me a little doggie bag for later.

We left feeling full and sleepy so headed back home to put our pyjamas on and watch films. It was the perfect end to a hectic week. I would definitely recommend the Afternoon Tea at the Leonard hotel.
